On Occasion, I Write

I won't say I write very well or with much substance, but some people like the way I write and decide to publish it on the Internetz. Ink19.com, thanks for putting up with my word vomit more than 14 times. Kisses!

This weekend: COUSINS! I'll be comin' to compound this weekend to hang out with the fam, bother some babies, and get my finances in order. After this weekend, I hope to almost be out of the financial woods.

Then: ON TO THE WRITING! I have a script I left to dry months ago along with a short story I started before I moved. Sean's been egging me on to do it and actually make it, so why the hell not? It's not like I'm doing anything anymore. >:-)

The Wednesday Post

I found out that none of the right places were signed for my title and after discussing it, I've decided I'll wait until I get back and just transfer the title with the address I've been using since I was 16. I've been without a permanent address for 4-5 years now, and now most of all, I have no business putting an address I know I'm just going to change again in a month-6 months anyway.

I slapped together my Master Splinter costume. The Ninja Turtle Party was great. I was really impressed with the commitment I saw with my fellow party-ers. Excellent work, dudes! Sorry, had to do it. Shredder was my favorite.

By the way, this is what I've dedicated my life to for the past few months or so. I believe in it and so should you: Never Knows Best Animation. We've worked with some stellar actors thus far and am wiggling with antici...pation.

Someone that isn't a friend or family member actually read one of my music reviews at Ink19.com and wants me to review some more albums for them. I hope it pans out. And by pans out I mean monetary compensation that, although won't be much, will actually mean something.

Things I Hope to Accomplish Today:
--Help Jeanette pick up and clean up the apartment for the big show this evening.
--Make it to AFI and show my support for Christy's thesis film.
--Make some headway on a book I'm proofreading.
--Re-pack my "luggage"

... And we're back!

Ugh, so we're back and the humidity is still stupid. We stopped in Fort Stockton and Baton Rouge. I stopped by Jill's and snagged a brownie and some post-Passover Matzo ball soup. My feet have finally stopped being so swollen.

I found out I could do a 60-day extension on my car insurance while I'm getting my title changed over and my registration re-done in Osceola county. So, now it's a race to get new car insurance by April 23rd or the insurance company gets to keep the extension money.

I also found out my independent contractor status means I have to send taxes every quarter. I found this out 2 days before the first quarter is over. Ugh.

On Thursday I'm flying back to LA to help Andrew shoot his short film. And go to Idris' Ninja Turtle party. I have to find a Master Splinter costume by Saturday. Hopefully I'll have time to crochet baby Phoebe a Hal 9000 hat and a Cylon hat for a gift from Andrew.

Off to the Osceola County Tax Collector office to switch over the title of my car to my name. Then maybe I'll have some fun hanging out with Janine and Liz.

So, we venture out at 4am tomorrow, hopefully to get out to Inland Empire before the absurd traffic march begins. We're gonna have some beverages so we can all sleep tonight. We have a feeling our other roommate is going to try and make it difficult for us to sleep tonight. >:) I thought we were all adults, but apparently we were grossly mistaken.

I'm gonna call SunPass today and make sure my account hasn't gone inactive. I'm sure there are some extra funds and we'll need them for our entrance into Florida.

Also! Um, I was naughty and took a picture of my other roommate's room. You know, the only one with a door, four walls, and a private bathroom. Yeah, anyway, I took pictures of his Bat Cave. Part of me really wants to post them, but I won't...

But I will say that the pictures are on my desktop for my personal edification.

I was just excited to see Lucy Day 'cause she's amaaaazing. And adorable. It was windy, drizzly, and chilly. Ew. I think Janet Jackson was on the lot somewhere, but we were kept far away from her Jackson-ness.

The Very Difficult Decision: Part Three

UPDATE! UPDATE! UPDATE!

I have never had such a frustrating, detrimental, agonizing, and/or infuriating living situation in my life. Anyway.

Here's what it comes down to: It will be the cheaper (and safer) option if Jared and I leave together at the same time. Hotel stays, moving materials, stranger danger. It all adds up. Really, did any of you think anyone was going to let me move back by myself? Yeah, I didn't think so.

The longer we stay, the more money we spend on groceries and things we wouldn't otherwise purchase if we moved back.

The most efficient decision we can make together as companions and partners is to leave as soon as situationally possible. What does that mean? We're talking boltin' in the dead of night, but in our case it's more like pre-dawn. I don't want to give a specific date because we're still hammering out details. We're thinking it'll be a late Easter present to our families on the east coast.

HOWEVER, do not panic, Andrew! I would never leave you high and dry. I will follow up with an e-mail specifically for you and our epic plans this month.

This is probably the most embarrassing and ridiculous thing I've had to do in my life. This was the worst time to move anywhere and start anew, and because of my ego and pride, I forced it and now I'm paying for it. Fair enough. It was not the time. To the chagrin of the warriors that have trekked here and lasted for more than a year, I commend you, but in these times, starting out in the red zone means a road to disaster. I will be back, friends. Mark my words.

The Very Difficult Decision: Part Two

As an off-hand remark, if you love tea, you will freakin' LOVE this guy's tea. It's amplified tea. Ugh, so delicious.

Anyway, even a couple of hours after "Part One" was published, plans were evolving and mutating into a drippy, 9-legged, Future monster. Rrawwwrrr!

Okay, so things I know to be true:

--Jared will currently be applying to jobs in both LA and the Orlando area. If he gets a job in Orlando, he will leave to pursue that prior to August. If he does not, he will move back in August to establish his residency in Florida again. I say, a job is a job and you gotta go where the work is, you know?

--If Jared lands an Orlando job prior to August, I will continue to stay here in LA until August. Whether or not I leave in August is an unknown right now.

Other than that, everything else is undecided since August is 4 months away. I have MANY options.

A few kids here are pretty ... I don't know how they feel, really, but it's safe to say they think it's too early to pack up and leave. Everyone thinks he should wait it out, but we were told that things would pick up in March and things have done none of the sort. He can't very well stick it out when he has no money. That's sort of the opposite of sticking it out, isn't it? Whatever, I'm wrong a lot. It's for them to say when they have equipment and things to sell on eBay for rent. We did that before we got here.

The Very Difficult Decision: Part One

Some pics from around the bedroom. Thanks, Mom, for the Claritin, grits, animal crackers, and Cadbury eggs. I'm still sick, so maybe once I can breathe again, I'll be able to taste them. There's also my yarn for a custom hat I'll be making. It's inspired by Battlestar Gallactica, the TV show, and it's gonna be great. Also, a glimpse of the biggest book I've ever proofread. I'm finished with the initial proofread. Now, I'm just going to go back and make some final marks before send-off.

Okay, so the title of this post is "The Very Difficult Decision: Part One." It's been a couple of days since Jared's return and upon his return, it was time for us to get real and face the inevitable truth.

So, we might move back. Not now, not in a month. It would be more like either the end of this year or next August. For me, at least. Jared's been unable to find work here, so his other option is UCF's MFA program in Creative Writing and/or finding work in Florida. He may have to move back sooner rather than later if he still wants to retain his residency in Florida.

What am I gonna do? Dude, whatever I want. This whole deal was to go out on my own and see what happened. I did not expect to explode and make gobs of money and have a fabulous apartment and live the dream. No, I did not. I expected to get here, live in a cardboard box and work as an extra being paid next to nothing and then figure it out from there. And I have! Ta-da!

So, now let's say I have until the end of this year to make something happen. Here's my plan: join AFTRA because it's cheaper, smarter, and easier than SAG, apply to The Sanford Meisner Center, and continue to do extra work. It is my HOPE(!) that in the next 8 months, I will be accepted into the 3-level intensive program that takes 15 weeks to complete, during which I will continue to proofread books and do extra work, only on a smaller scale, hence the AFTRA bump. Mo' money, mo' problems. Once that is all complete and, let's say, I move back to Florida in December? I'll continue to proofread books and then seek representation by an agency like Bicoastal Talent that will help me do what I want and work in the industry while still living in Orlando.

Whew! Suck on that! Being out here, I've found that I miss being a student, whether it be on a University-scale as an English major or as a student at an acting center. I love to learn, I love to work, and I love to better myself. I can do that pretty much anywhere on this globe.
