Plarn and fire alarms

A wonderful side effect of Mucinex is sleeplessness. I'm going on 4 hours of sleep and I'm still good for a whiiiiile.

I finally finished rolling up some plarn I started 2, maybe 3 years ago. Ugh, I'm so glad I finished it! I don't think I did a very good job, but ohoo well. It's about 50+ yards of plastic bags knotted all together for to be made into a grocery bag or something. Something.

Jared flew to Florida yesterday for a long weekend. I've been sick since Tuesday and I decided to stay home from "work" and proofread a book while popping decongestants. I got paychecks from being on Southland, "My American Family," and The Mentalist. It's looking like I'll need to work, like, 6 days/week, 12 hours/day to make decent cash flow. Not sure if I have the sanity for that, though. Minimum wage + CA taxin' = whoa.

Oh! To conclude, a little word about our wonderful apartment building. Since we've moved in, the fire alarm goes off at least once a day for 5 minutes straight. Today it went off twice for 5 minutes straight and after 4 minutes each time, the fire trucks one block away came huffin' down the street and the firefighters were probably at first disappointed and then slightly annoyed. There's one reason to continue going to be an extra "in the field" --- to get away from the hearing damage.

Ed O'Neill!!! Oh, wow! A face from my childhood is in the pilot of a new of sitcom called "My American Family." Jason Winer was also there, but this time as Director. He's my size and that was nice. FYI, he was in Van Wilder and had a huge unibrow.

Okay, so #2 and #5 were on The OC. There were two other actresses that I recognized but couldn't think of what I've seen them in and can't remember their names. I feel dumb about it because one of them smiled at the me, an extra. Which means a lot when you're considered less than nothing on a set. :)

It's a new crime show set in LA called Southland. It debuts April 9th on NBC and I think I'm somewhere in episode 3 or 4.

I'm all set up with Reel Talent, Inc. Suh-weet. Now the waiting game as usual. I have a book to keep me preoccupied. To proofread, that is. No leisure reading here.

Okay, so fun things today.

My friend Ginan said "I found a picture of you on the Internetz!"
Yeah, although I appreciate the flattery... I's no Meryl Streep. That school picture actually reminds me of my mom with my dad's hair... so yeah, I guess that's me. The second time I've been compared to Meryl Streep in 24 hours. Cuh-reepy.

Next! A Gay-Marriage Solution: End Marriage. I like it, but that's 'cause I'm a dirty liberal.

Lastly! I finished my first pair of child shoes.
Puh-retty sure they're not gonna fit, but at least I tried haha. I also have someone at Etsy making me a new shop banner as we speak. That thing is gonna be boiled peanuts. That's means awesome.

Friday's Violent Indifference

It's a rollercoaster that never yields sales. I haven't sold anything since January. It's hard to stay positive and motivated and not get frustrated.

Maybe I'll read tomorrow... I don't know. I've always wanted to re-read Dune and then continue on the with the un-ending volumes.

Something I've noticed about California: they don't use PVC pipes like in FL, so the water is exponentially colder. Due to this temperature difference, our toilet sweats. It's so humid in our apartment that even the toilet looks like a glass of lemonade in the summertime. Drippy bastards.

I'm gonna go take a shower and battle my forever oily face and smog-allergic skin. Yeah, it's been a disappointing day. Ya deal and ya move on. Boo-yah.

I have an appointment to take new pictures and register with Reel Talent, Inc. Kelly Hunt was super nice and I think I've made a good choice. On Saturday, we're meeting in Silver Lake to take some more pichures. The roles of which will encompass:

*young mother
*nurse
*business professional
*high-school, college student
*nightclub-goer
*hiker
*cocktail party-goer

So, I'm sure I have things for about half of those, so I need to go shopping tomorrow --- something I've been in desperate need of doing since I've been here. Maybe H&M or something.

Hopefully I'll start working next week or the week after, worst-case scenario.

Oh, and I finally bought a vacuum cleaner! Yay!

Sunday: I made coasters

I made coasters today 'cause rings on the glass tables are unacceptable.

I got a postcard from my friend Shannon yesterday. It's from Malta! Apparently there's lots of elderly English people there tanning the day away.

I also got my new wall decal for to be photog-ing my Etsy products. I is the excited. Unfortunately, I've never used wall decals, so I have no idea how to work 'em. I e-mailed the lady in Utah that made them for me for instructions.
