BEEEEES!

Busy, that is.

"So many things to do in the lab, so many things to do..."

It's been a crazy 3 1/2 months. I think mostly because I've been telling my neuroses to go S a B of Ds. I have a thing about crowds, strangers, talking to people, or calling strangers on the phone.
  • I volunteered at the Gay Experimental Film Festival, DOCNYC at the IFC Center, and now consistently help with installation/de-installation/calming the mob with treats at the WAH Center in Brooklyn during its exhibitions.
  • I interviewed a director of marketing at a credit union for an article I wrote for a website -- badly. I was so nervous and awkward and sweaty.
  • As part of a personal side project, I stood in Times Square with a blindfold, ear plugs, nose plugs and a mouthful of Anbesol.
Because it's time I grew out. Not "up" in the sense of being an adult, because what does being an "adult" mean? Does it mean buying a house? Getting married? Reproducing? Acquiring an animal?

No, we know this. You don't have to be a mature human being to be approved for a mortgage, join a sperm with an egg or pick up a free cat from an ad you saw on Craigslist.

I'm growing out. Out into the world like an octopus. Or like that horrifying creature in Phantoms. Yay for personal exploration!

Yes, grow out into this amazing and ridiculous world and conquer it.
