And she's still laughing

Friday Freak-Out

Ahhh, so I finally registered at Central Casting and can start calling my availability as early as tonight, but I'm working tonight, so no. The lady that was going over my paperwork, glanced at my hips and changed what I had written as my hip measurement. Yeah, totally fat, I'm sure. I put 33 and she changed it to 36. What-evs, I'm not skinny, I'm quite aware. I'm healthy. :)

Something I didn't expect: people stand outside Central Casting to promote their photography and acting classes and whatever else an LA newb would dig. I did not expect that, but I guess I was a bit impressed at the cleverness.

----ASTHMATIC GRIPE WARNING----
I am allergic to smoke. ALL smoke. It makes my lungs burn, my lungs and esophagus tighten and inflame, and I may even noticeably wheeze. That means you shouldn't smoke around me and even if you keep it on the patio, when you come in, I will sneeze after coming into contact with your clothes. So pointing your cigarette/clove/douche cigar out the sliding glass door does not spare anyone from the irritant. Especially since I live in the loft, come on, it floats straight up into my room. We don't have ceiling fans. We have one window at the other side of the room. We don't have a full fourth wall.

Sorry I inhibit your selfish addiction. I'm so tired of telling you to keep it outside. God forbid I want to keep my lungs pink and squishy.

And finally...

I'm going to Central Casting tomorrow morning to stand in line like a cow to slaughter and pay $25 to have my picture taken. Ugh. I still can't find ANY of my make-up, so I dropped another 50 bucks for new make-up. Bleh, indeed.

A couple of hours of transcribing awaits me tomorrow at 6pm a few blocks away. It gets me out of the house and in front of a different computer with another set of headphones, but I'm definitely okay with it. Haha.

I wrote 3 articles for Ink19.com today. I felt really accomplished until I realized I still have 4 more and a DVD review left, but hey, it's kinda like debt on a credit card --- one step forward, two steps back. Uh and what's this garbage about how being debt free is actually a bad thing? Fine, I'll go splurge a on a TV I don't need and see how they like THAT!

This shall be my first baby blanket:
It's just squares right now and I need to make, like, 8 more, but it'll be precious. The mom wasn't really set on color scheme, but yellow and green were definitely in there somewhere. And pink, 'cause she's having a girl.

Right now, Etsy-wise, I'm waiting some new wall decals I'll be using for my new product photos. This is my inspiration:
Yes, old timey mug shots. I'm waiting on the wall decals that will be my height charts and I'm going to con some friends into being models. I'm working with my friend Sheila who did my custom listings for a new logo. I have, like, 4 new items, I'm just feeling really discouraged and self-conscious about my photog skills and the fact that I haven't had a sale in over a month. A little bummed and jaded, but that doesn't keep from crocheting. That's my OCD for keeping busy.

Haaaa.

Shoe Box Cookies...

arrre delicious. Thanks, Aunt Nette! They're pretty much gone now. Wahahaha.

My Saturday night consisted of watching episodes of Arrested Development and crocheting granny squares and a headband. Thanks to Hulu.com for sharing the following television shows with me.

Without Hulu, I would not know the $0.00 joy of watching Arrested Development and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. However, after January 25th, IASIP episodes have been removed, save for five at a time. "Rolling episodes," they call them. Here's a great commercial featuring Alec Baldwin for Hulu.com:

Suspended Animation

Things I love:
---Food from the family
---Lotus green tea (guuurrrrggle)
---Fried peanut-butter and banana sammies
---Pandora.com
---Wearing pajamas all day (don't worry; I don't venture out in public dressed as such)

I gots a present from m' Jared.

It's like fake wood. I likes it. This past Tuesday was the big 1-year anniversary. Didn't do anything stupendous 'cause we don't have a whole lot of money, but we did commence to the baby voices and what-have-you. Eww, I know. So gross.

In other news, I finished my last custom order for now.

It says "Truth is a fruit which should not be plucked until it is ripe." Really, it should say "that should not," but I'm going to blame it on the olden days when crap like that wasn't written in stone/the Internet. It's got grapes and vines and full fingers. After this, I'm free to do as I please, which unfortunately, means it's time to remember that I don't have any design savvy. Hopefully next week I'll have finished some more items to post on Etsy. I'm working on a new "campaign" which means better photography, more consistency, and more of a singular style for The Must Stash.

By the way, the roommates, Jared, and I want to live here:

It's across the street from where we live now and we've all decided that in 6 months, we want to live there. NoHo14.com Ugh, so delicious. However, it costs more to live colorfully, so we're saving our pennies and working that little bit extra.

Uhh, what else? Oh! I've gone crazy for blogs lately. Like, I'm finding that all of these people that I love have blogs and I love to read them every day. The newest addition is my friend Mrs. Sain who writes a blog about raising her two boys published by the Gainesville Sun. Not as many pictures as a blogspot, but I can understand since it's a newspaper. I wouldn't want crazies lookin' at my babies.

And FINALLY:

As of Friday, my gig of logging footage has ended. Now, I have two books ready for super-proofreading. This week I'll be catching up on the things I missed on doing for the last two and a half weeks: registering at Central Casting, finishing some crocheted gloves, getting my oil changed, getting adequate exercise, doing research and character work for new acting project, make deposits and all that.

There are two things that I've taken advantage of before moving to California and generally miss: the simple "thank you" gesture given while in the car when someone has let you in or does something they didn't need to do in the first place. All those douches who didn't merge at an appropriate distance --- You're welcome! I can't remember what the other one was, but it'll come to me.

Here are some pictures of our new digs in North Hollywood

And if you haven't been keepin' up with the viral video thing:

This is just audio. Explicit material housed in this itty bitty frame.

I have no life. Don't worry it's a good thing.

Ooooh, my gootness! It has been an INSANE last 7-8 days! So here are the bullet points:

  • got a job for the next (now) 2 weeks! Mon-Sat., 9-7pm, 1-hour commute, hoity-toity parking garage access card. It drains me of every ounce of energy. :)
  • Jared and I have a place to live! We live in North Hollywood near the Arts district. We found some fellow Floridian transplant actors who are just as quirky and goofy as us. It's creepy how well it works. Let me know if you'd like to see pictures!
  • decided to resign from Ink19, because I just don't have time anymore. I'll finish up my last 8 reviews and then on my way I shall go.
  • Jared had some more Production Assistant work this week, so bam!
I am so tired! I'm working with our friend Andrew on a new short film project also. In 2 weeks, the extra work begins. Huzzah!
